LSU baseball received plenty of support in its quest to secure an eighth national championship in Omaha, and legendary baseball coach Skip Bertman joined the Tiger faithful in Nebraska on Sunday.
Bertman also met with current baseball coach Jay Johnson and the team in the clubhouse before Sunday afternoon’s Game 2 against Coastal Carolina at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska
The Tigers beat Coastal Carolina 5-3 to sweep the CWS title series in Omaha.
The 87-year-old won five national championships while at the helm for LSU from 1984-2001.

The LSU baseball team received a large amount of support from notable alumni and Tiger legends, including: Shaquille O’Neal, Paul Skenes and Olivia Dunne. Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry and Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves.
Prior to arriving in Omaha, Bertman had been watching from Baton Rouge as LSU put together a flawless run going into Sunday’s Game 2 against the Chanticleers.ย Sunday’s win marks the second national championship in three years for the program. The fans are also in the running to win another title again, which is the Jell-O Shots challenge at Rocco’s pizza and cantina. LSU fans hold a hefty lead over every other fanbase in Omaha and they could also win their second title in three years.
