Wanderers are enjoying a terrific season, despite offloading a number of key players last summer and losing Julen Lopetegui just days before the new campaign.

Gary O’Neil replaced Lopetegui, and may tipped Wolves to either go down or struggle this season.
But he has been a breath of fresh air, and part of the reason Wolves have been so good this term is because, at long last, the team is scoring goals and being more ruthless in the final third.

So far in the Premier League, Wolves have scored 37 goals. This is already six more than they managed in the whole of last season.
Kilman appeared on the radio yesterday to talk about Wolves’ season, and there is no doubt in the captain’s mind that this is the most attacking Wolves side he’s been a part of…
Max Kilman ‘100%’ sure he’s playing in the most attacking Wolves side yet

Kilman went on BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily show yesterday to talk about the season so far and why things have really been clicking.
The centre-back praised O’Neil, believing his extreme focus is a huge reason why they have been so successful so far.
Kilman was also asked about the improvement in attack, with Matheus Cunha, Pedro Neto and Hwang Hee-chan all playing starring roles this term.
The 26-year-old is in no doubt that he is currently playing in the most attacking Wolves team since his arrival in 2018.
He said: “100%. Obviously, when Nuno was the manager seasons ago, there was quite an attacking way and Wolves scored a lot of goals. But now I think from my point of view we’re playing more attacking football and creating way more chances. The returns have been good.”
Wolves find their fangs after years of toothlessness
One of the very best things O’Neil has done since he came in is to get Wolves to score more goals. Because this was probably the biggest issue Wolves have had since returning to the Premier League.
Under Bruno Lage and Julen Lopetegui, and even Nuno Espirito Santo at times, Wolves really struggled to find the back of the net on a consistent basis.
Under Lage and Lopetegui, there was more of a focus on being hard to beat, rather than being expansive, free-flowing and expressive.
Wolves could be a difficult watch under the previous managers, but O’Neil has got the team playing some terrific stuff now and has set up the team in a way that allows the fast flair players like Cunha, Neto and Hwang to thrive.
Ultimately football is entertainment, and for the first time in a long time, Wolves are genuinely great to watch.
