Kelvin Sampson Makes His Opinion On Jon Scheyer Extremely Clear

Kelvin Sampson, the head coach of the Houston Cougars, has expressed his admiration for Jon Scheyer, the head coach of the Duke Blue Devils. Sampson praised Scheyer, saying that he’s no longer living in the shadow of legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski. “Nobody talks about him replacing Coach K anymore,” Sampson said. “He’s Jon Scheyer. He’s got his team in the Final Four. I think that speaks volumes for him” ¹.

Sampson’s comments come ahead of the Final Four matchup between Houston and Duke, where Scheyer will look to lead his team to a national championship. Scheyer has done an impressive job in his third season as head coach, leading the Blue Devils to an 89-21 record and two ACC Tournament championships ¹.

It’s worth noting that Scheyer has also received praise from his predecessor, Mike Krzyzewski, who said that Scheyer is “an outstanding coach and is his own man” ¹. With Sampson’s endorsement, it’s clear that Scheyer has earned the respect of his peers in the coaching world.
