Ohio State has added another marquee name to its football program with the commitment of Keelon Russell, a five-star quarterback out of Duncanville High School in Texas. The 6-foot-3 standout announced his decision on Monday, choosing the Buckeyes over other powerhouse programs, including Alabama, Indiana, and Nebraska.
Russell, widely regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting class, has been a dominant force on the high school circuit. Known for his dual-threat ability, precise passing, and poise under pressure, he threw for over 3,200 yards and 38 touchdowns in his junior season while rushing for an additional 500 yards and eight scores. His performances helped lead Duncanville to a state title, further cementing his status as an elite prospect.
“I felt Ohio State was the best place for me to grow as a player and person,” Russell said during his announcement. “The coaching staff, the tradition, and the chance to compete for championships made it an easy decision.”
