Tom, I think Jefferson will be a member of the Minnesota Vikings for some time to come.
Over the previous few seasons, Minnesota has developed its offense to the point where they can start a rookie quarterback this season. Along with skill-position players like Aaron Jones, who they signed in free agency, and tackles Christian Darrisaw and Brian O’Neill, the Vikings boast an offensive line that is led by them. In addition, Minnesota boasts a strong quarterbacking staff, led by Josh McCown, the quarterbacks coach, and assistant coach Kevin O’Connell.
If the Vikings are able to acquire a quarterback, trading Jefferson would make the situation extremely uncertain for the young quarterback they will select in two weeks.
