**JUST IN:Former fivestar Johntay Cook recaps Arkansas official visit**

In a move that has fans of Razorback Nation buzzing with anticipation, former five-star wide receiver Johntay Cook touched down in Fayetteville this weekend for his official visit to the University of Arkansas—and by all accounts, it was nothing short of electric.

Arriving Friday evening to a warm welcome from Head Coach Sam Pittman and Offensive Coordinator Bobby Petrino, Cook was greeted like royalty. The moment he stepped off the plane, it was clear Arkansas was pulling out all the stops. From personalized graphics flashing on the massive LED screens at the Fred W. Smith Football Center to a private dinner at The Catfish Hole with current players and alumni, the weekend was a full-throttle pitch to convince the ultra-talented receiver to don Razorback red and white.

Cook, who entered the transfer portal earlier this spring after a rollercoaster freshman campaign at Texas, has become one of the most sought-after wideouts on the market. With elite speed, silky-smooth route-running, and the ability to stretch the field vertically, he’s the type of game-changer Arkansas has been hungry for.

Sources close to the program confirmed Cook spent extensive time with new wide receivers coach Ronnie Fouch, breaking down film and discussing his potential role in a revamped Arkansas offense. “They showed me how I could be their number one, right away,” Cook said in an exclusive sit-down Saturday evening. “Coach Petrino laid out a vision that puts the ball in my hands, in space, early and often. That’s the kind of opportunity I’m looking for.”

The visit wasn’t all X’s and O’s, though. Cook toured the academic facilities, met with athletic director Hunter Yurachek, and even spent a few hours bonding with current players at a late-night shootaround at Bud Walton Arena. Insiders noted that he seemed particularly close with quarterback KJ Jackson, who has been quietly recruiting him behind the scenes.

By Sunday morning, the buzz was palpable. Cook left Fayetteville with a custom Razorbacks jersey bearing his name, but more importantly, a lasting impression of a program ready to embrace him as a centerpiece. “It felt real,” he said. “There’s a different energy here. I felt wanted, not just needed.”

While no official commitment was made, sources say Arkansas has positioned itself as a serious contender. Cook is expected to take additional visits, but the Razorbacks have done more than just enter the race—they may have just sprinted to the front of the pack.

Stay tuned. Razorback fans might just be witnessing the beginning of something special.
