Jaxson Dart Ready to Lead Ole Miss to SEC Title Run in 2025
Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart enters the 2025 season with sky-high expectations — and he’s not shying away from them. After guiding the Rebels to a 10-win season and a New Year’s Six bowl victory in 2024, Dart returns as one of the most experienced and dynamic quarterbacks in the SEC.
In a recent press conference, Dart spoke candidly about his goals, development, and what it will take to bring an SEC championship to Oxford. “We came close last year, but this team is capable of more,” he said. “The standard is higher now, and we’re all in on chasing a title.”
Dart, who threw for over 3,500 yards and 28 touchdowns last season, credits his offseason work with receivers and offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. as crucial to his growth. “We’ve focused on timing, accuracy, and making better decisions under pressure,” Dart said. “This offense is built for speed and aggression — and I’m ready to lead it.”
The Rebels return several key offensive weapons, including standout running back Quinshon Judkins and wideout Tre Harris, providing Dart with a deep arsenal. But it’s not just about the offense. Dart emphasized the importance of a complete team effort. “Our defense has stepped up big time in camp,” he noted. “Iron sharpens iron — we push each other every day.”
Dart also praised head coach Lane Kiffin’s leadership, calling him “a genius when it comes to putting players in position to succeed.” As a senior, Dart knows this is his moment. “This is my team,” he said. “I came back for a reason — to win big, and to leave a legacy at Ole Miss.”
With Dart at the helm and a loaded roster around him, the Rebels are poised to make serious noise in the SEC this fall.
