£20m Arsenal player spotted back in first-team training ahead of Fulham

The Japanese defender hasn’t played since the start of December and didn’t appear to return until at least the new year.

Tomiyasu will be missing a few Arsenal games due to his selection for Japan’s Asia Cup squad, but it appears that he may return sooner than many had anticipated, according to the astute observers of Arsenal’s most recent training images.

In the picture below from Getty Images, Tomiyasu is seen in the background with Mo Elneny in his full training gear, appearing to participate in the session.

Of course, not much else is revealed, so Tomiyasu may have just been doing some light work, but it’s good news for Arsenal to see the £20 million player back in action.

Arsenal seems exhausted but Tomiyasu’s comeback gives them a lift.

Without a question, the Gunners will need to exert every effort to stay healthy as the season moves into the upcoming chilly months.
