The former star quarterback at Alabama and Oklahoma was not part of the Super Bowl champion contingent in Washington, D.C. Yamiche Alcindor of NBC News reported that the White House said Hurts and other Eagles players who were absent from the White House visit had “scheduling conflicts.”
Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP after leading the Eagles to a dominating 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super 59 a few months ago in New Orleans. Hurts was sensational in winning the MVP, going 17 of 22 for 221 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception, while also rushing 11 times for 72 yards and another TD.
Hurts was still in college, starring for the Crimson Tide when the Eagles won the Super Bowl in February of 2018, so he wasn’t a part of the team not going to the White House to celebrate that Super Bowl victory.
This time, 7 years later, the Eagles went to the White House but Hurts was not there to celebrate with most of his teammates who decided to attend.
