Jaland Lowe, a standout point guard from the University of Pittsburgh, has officially withdrawn from the 2025 NBA Draft and committed to the Kentucky Wildcats for the upcoming season. Lowe made the announcement via social media, stating, “Can’t miss out on this opportunity. See y’all soon BBN.”
During his sophomore year at Pitt, Lowe averaged 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game, earning Third Team All-ACC honors. Despite these impressive numbers, his shooting percentages were modest—37.6% from the field and 26.6% from three-point range.
Kentucky head coach Mark Pope believes that Lowe’s efficiency will improve within the Wildcats’ system. Pope noted that at Pitt, Lowe often had to take difficult shots due to the team’s dynamics, which affected his shooting percentages. He emphasized that with better shot selection and support at Kentucky, Lowe can elevate his game significantly.
Lowe’s decision to join Kentucky was also influenced by former Wildcats De’Aaron Fox and Aaron Harrison, who shared their positive experiences at UK with Lowe’s father.
With Lowe expected to take on the role of starting point guard, Kentucky’s backcourt is shaping up to be a formidable force for the 2025–26 season.
