University of Miami Hurricanes transfer Isaiah Horton is poised to make a significant impact for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Standing at 6’4″ and weighing 205 pounds, Horton brings a unique skill set to Alabama’s roster as a wide receiver. Originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Horton was a highly regarded 4-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, and he redshirted his first year.
During the 2024 season, Horton recorded 56 receptions for 616 yards and five touchdowns with the Hurricanes.
Former teammates have spoken highly of Horton, anticipating his rise as a key playmaker for Alabama. It’s expected that Horton will slot in as the number three receiver for the Crimson Tide, behind Ryan Williams and Germie Bernard.
Former Miami receiver Xavier Restrepo praised Horton at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, describing him as a “one-on-one nightmare” and a “matchup nightmare.” Restrepo added, “He’s a great guy off the field as well. He’s developed some excellent habits by observing me and Cam (Ward) this past year. He’s dangerous, has great hands, size, and deceptive speed.”
Restrepo also emphasized the importance of consistency, saying, “He needs to stay consistent. There were highs and lows last year, but he’s ready to take the next step. I’ve talked to him recently, and he’s ready to break out.”
Former Hurricanes tight end Elijah Arroyo echoed these sentiments, stating, “That’s my guy. Alabama is getting a dog. He’s a hard worker who will put his head down and do what it takes to succeed.”
Former Miami offensive lineman Jalen Rivers agreed, highlighting Horton’s physical attributes, “He’s got a long body, tall, and catches the ball well. He makes plays consistently and has that drive to improve. He doesn’t want to settle. To be great, you need that mindset, and he has it.”
With his combination of size, skill, and determination, Horton is set to be a valuable addition to Alabama’s receiving corps.
