Taylor Twellman, an Apple TV commentator, has welcomed Inter Miami’s signing of Julian Gressel, a free agency wide midfielder.

Gressel, a 30-year-old winger, has had a successful career in America, winning the MLS Cup with the Columbus Crew last season after previously winning the title with Atlanta United under Tata Martino.
Now reunited with the Argentine coach in Florida, Gressel could become an integral part of Inter Miami’s plans this season, with the German-born USA international featuring heavily in pre-season.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Twellman praised Gressel, describing the winger as ‘probably one of the top crossers of the ball’ in MLS.
While Inter Miami’s purchase of Luis Suarez made headlines last month, Gressel’s arrival might be even more significant for the Herons.
And if Martino can discover the ideal place and function for Gressel in this Inter Miami group, the winger’s potential with Suarez and Lionel Messi is limitless.
Inter Miami need to find Julian Gressel’s perfect role
With just one win in pre-season, Inter Miami’s worldwide tour didn’t exactly do much to strike fear in the hearts of opponents heading into the new MLS year.

And for Gressel, another factor of the tour was that the former Columbus star is yet to really settle on his best position or role in Martino’s Inter Miami team.
Whilst there is still some time before the start of the season, the Argentine coach needs to get to work soon to nail down a role for Gressel alongside Suarez and Messi.
After all, Gressel is a player who knows MLS like the back of his hands and can be key to Inter Miami in their quest to dominate the division, yet it will all mean nothing if a role can’t be identified for the winger.
