Shocking Arrest: Ole Miss Linebacker Khari Coleman Faces Felony Exposure Charges
An Ole Miss football player was taken into custody Thursday in connection with an alleged indecent exposure incident at the Gator Bowl earlier this month.
Khari Coleman, a senior linebacker for the Ole Miss Rebels, was arrested in Oxford, Mississippi, on Thursday, as confirmed by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office in Florida.
The arrest relates to an incident that occurred on January 2, 2025, at the Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation began after female housekeeping staff at the resort reported that a male had exposed himself to them.
Authorities looked into the matter and found that Coleman was involved in two separate incidents of indecent exposure on that day. As a result, he faces two felony charges for exposure of sexual organs.
Further investigation revealed that Coleman had a previous arrest in 2023 related to a similar incident in Mississippi, where he was charged with indecent exposure involving five victims.
This history has added a layer of complexity to the case, raising questions about whether the prior incident could impact the current legal proceedings.
At the time of the alleged incident, Ole Miss was in the Jacksonville area for the Gator Bowl, an annual postseason college football game held at EverBank Stadium.
During the game, the Rebels secured a dominant 52-20 victory over Duke.
Coleman, who had just completed his third season with Ole Miss after transferring from TCU in 2022, started in the game after linebacker TJ Dottery decided to opt out.
He contributed five tackles to his team’s efforts, finishing the 2024 season with a total of 45 tackles.
This incident has drawn significant attention, as it brings into question the behavior of a prominent athlete, and it remains to be seen how the legal and public fallout will unfold in the coming weeks.
The university has yet to issue a public statement regarding Coleman’s arrest or its potential disciplinary actions.
