In a shocking move that’s sent waves through the college football recruiting world, 4-star tight end Andrew Olesh has recommitted to Penn State, flipping from the Michigan Wolverines in a dramatic late decision. The Southern Lehigh High School standout from Center Valley, Pennsylvania, made the announcement during a live-streamed ceremony on Friday, choosing the Nittany Lions over both Michigan and Oregon.
Olesh, ranked as the No. 3 tight end in the nation and the top overall player in Pennsylvania for the 2025 class, originally committed to Michigan in July. However, after reopening his recruitment, he took visits to several powerhouse programs including Penn State, Oregon, Alabama, and Notre Dame.
“I just went with my heart,” Olesh said. “I felt like at Penn State, I’m the most comfortable—with the coaching staff, with the players, and the relationships I’ve built.”
This recommitment gives a huge boost to Penn State’s 2025 recruiting class, which now boasts 27 total prospects and ranks among the top 20 nationally. Olesh joins fellow tight end commits Matt Henderson and Brady O’Hara, adding depth and star power to the Nittany Lions’ future offense.
For Michigan, Olesh’s flip is a tough loss, particularly given how the Wolverines utilize the tight end position. Despite this setback, their 2025 class remains strong and continues to rank among the nation’s elite.
Olesh’s decision is a reminder that in the world of college football recruiting, nothing is final until pen meets paper—and relationships, trust, and comfort often outweigh everything else.
