“I regret Joining Ole Miss” Ole Miss sees QB transfer from Louisville re-enter portal, per report

Pierce Clarkson, the quarterback transfer from Louisville, has decided to re-enter the transfer portal after a brief stint with Ole Miss. Clarkson joined the Rebels in January and participated in spring practice under Coach Lane Kiffin. However, it seems he didn’t see a clear path to playing time, given the presence of Austin Simmons, who’s expected to step into the QB1 role, and AJ Maddox, another talented quarterback on the roster.

*Clarkson’s Background:*

– *High School:* Clarkson was a 4-star recruit from St. John Bosco in California, rated as America’s No. 23 quarterback and No. 351 nationally by the 247Sports Composite index.

– *Louisville Stint:* He played sparingly at Louisville, making only two appearances in 2024 and logging minimal productivity.

– *Ole Miss Opportunity:* Clarkson’s decision to re-enter the portal suggests he might seek more playing time elsewhere, potentially at a program where he can be the starter or have a clearer path to playing time ¹ ².
