How Can Washington Huskies Contain Ohio State Jaloni Cambridge?

While Cotie McMahon may be Ohio State top scorer, the Washington Huskies can’t afford to overlook the impact of Jaloni Cambridge. She has been a dynamic offensive and defensive force for the Buckeyes, consistently making plays that create scoring opportunities for both herself and her teammates.

Cambridge currently averages 14.8 points per game, making her the second-leading scorer for Ohio State this season. More importantly, she has established herself as the team’s primary playmaker, having racked up a team-high 63 assists. Her ability to control the offense and distribute the ball effectively will be a significant challenge for Washington’s defense, especially as the Huskies look to pull off an upset on the road.

Cambridge All-Around Game Could Cause Problems for Washington

Cambridge’s efficiency makes her even more dangerous, as she has converted 46.2% of her field-goal attempts this season. Additionally, her 33 steals show that she isn’t just an offensive threat she’s a defensive disruptor as well. Washington’s backcourt will need to be extra careful when handling the ball, as Sayvia Sellers and Elle Ladine must ensure they’re making smart decisions to avoid turnovers.

Interestingly, Cambridge has stepped up her performance in Big Ten matchups, averaging 14.9 points per game while slightly improving her shooting percentage to 46.7% against conference opponents. Her ability to impact the game in multiple ways means Washington must have a well-structured game plan to keep her from taking over.

Can the Huskies Contain Cambridge?

If Washington’s guards get careless, Cambridge will take full advantage and make life difficult for the Huskies.
