Braeden Davis stands out as one of Michigan’s most accomplished high school wrestlers, with a career that places him among the state’s elite.
High School Legacy: 4×4 Champion
Davis, hailing from Belleville and competing for Dundee High School, achieved the rare feat of winning four individual state championships across four different weight classes: 103 lbs (2020), 112 lbs (2021), 119 lbs (2022), and 132 lbs (2023). He also contributed to four team state titles, making him one of only five wrestlers in Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) history to accomplish a “4×4” sweep. He concluded his high school career with an impressive 149-6 record, including a perfect 41-0 senior season.
National and Freestyle Success
Beyond high school, Davis excelled nationally, winning the 2021 Junior Freestyle Nationals in Fargo. His early wrestling career included victories at the MYWAY state championships and the MUSAW Woodhaven tournament, showcasing his versatility across freestyle, Greco-Roman, and folkstyle disciplines.
Collegiate Career at Penn State
Davis continued his wrestling journey at Penn State University, a powerhouse in collegiate wrestling. As a true freshman, he clinched the Big Ten title at 125 lbs, defeating top-ranked opponents like Patrick McKee and Eric Barnett. Although he narrowly missed All-American honors that year, he rebounded in his sophomore season, finishing fifth at the 2025 NCAA Championships in the 133-pound category, thus earning his first All-American distinction.
