Penn State player makes history with first-ever NBA first-round draft pick
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. —
For the first time, a Penn State player was drafted to the NBA in the first round.
The Los Angeles Clippers selected Penn State’s Yanic Konan Niederhauser with the last pick of the first round.The pick marked a historic moment as he became the first-ever Penn State player to be drafted in the first round of the NBA.
Niederhauser, a center from Switzerland, is just the fifth Nittany Lion drafted since 1989.
Despite battling injuries during his only year at Penn State, he averaged nearly 13 points and six rebounds per game.
