Texas A&M Announces Michael Earley Will Return for Second Season as Baseball Coach
Texas A&M University has officially announced that Michael Earley will return as head coach of the Aggie baseball program for the 2025 season. The decision follows a strong debut year at the helm, where Earley led the team to a competitive showing in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and earned praise for his leadership and player development.
Earley, who took over as head coach in 2024 after serving as the program’s hitting coach, made an immediate impact in his first season. Under his guidance, the Aggies showed marked improvement both at the plate and in overall team chemistry, finishing with a winning record and making a solid postseason run that included an appearance in the NCAA Regional tournament.
“Michael Earley has brought energy, discipline, and a renewed focus to Aggie baseball,” said Texas A&M Athletic Director Trev Alberts in a statement. “We are excited about the direction the program is headed under his leadership and believe he is the right person to guide this team to national prominence.”
Earley’s first year was highlighted by standout offensive performances, with several players setting personal and team-best records in batting average, on-base percentage, and home runs. His ability to connect with players and push them to excel has drawn attention from fans and analysts alike.
“I’m incredibly honored to continue leading this program,” Earley said. “Texas A&M is a special place with an amazing fan base, top-tier facilities, and a tradition of excellence. I’m proud of what we accomplished in year one, but there’s still a lot more work to do. We’re just getting started.”
Players have also expressed excitement about Earley’s return, citing his energy and modern approach to coaching as key factors in their development and success on the field.
Recruits have taken notice as well. The Aggies have secured a promising 2025 recruiting class, with several top-ranked high school prospects already committed to play in College Station.
With Earley set to return, expectations are high for next season. The program aims to build on the foundation laid in 2024, with hopes of returning to the College World Series for the first time since 2022.
Aggie fans can look forward to an exciting future under Coach Michael Earley, as Texas A&M baseball continues its pursuit of excellence in the always-competitive SEC.
