Giants Sign First-Round QB Jaxson Dart
Former Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart has officially embarked on his NFL journey after signing a four-year, $17 million rookie deal with the New York Giants. The contract, announced just days after the 2025 NFL Draft, includes a signing bonus of approximately $9 million and is fully guaranteed, reflecting the Giants’ confidence in Dart as a potential franchise cornerstone.
Selected 25th overall, Dart becomes the latest Ole Miss quarterback to make the leap to the NFL, following in the footsteps of Eli Manning and Matt Corral. His standout final season in Oxford featured 3,762 passing yards, 32 touchdowns, and just eight interceptions, leading the Rebels to a 10-3 record and a New Year’s Six bowl appearance. His poise, arm strength, and mobility made him an appealing prospect in a quarterback-heavy draft class.
At his introductory press conference in New York, Dart expressed his excitement and gratitude. “It’s a dream come true. I’m thankful for my time at Ole Miss — the coaches, teammates, and fans helped shape me. I’m ready to bring that same energy and work ethic to the Giants.”
The Giants have made it clear that Dart will be competing for the starting job in training camp. With uncertainty surrounding the future of current starter Daniel Jones, Dart could quickly become the face of the franchise if he impresses in offseason workouts.
Back in Oxford, Ole Miss fans celebrated the news on social media, proud to see another Rebel make his mark at the next level. For head coach Lane Kiffin, it’s a strong testament to the program’s development of NFL-caliber talent.
As Dart steps into the bright lights of the NFL, all eyes will be on how he adapts — and whether he can replicate his college success on the professional stage.
