According to multiple reports, Georgia has been named an early contender for guard Denzel Aberdeen. The talented junior guard has spent all three of his collegiate season at rival Florida, where he had a solid 2024-25 season where he averaged 7.7 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game. This obviously was done on a National Championship winning team where he contributed seven points and two rebounds in the Gators championship win over Houston.
Aberdeen however has since decided to enter the portal to look for a new home for his final season of college ball, and Georgia has quickly become one of his top choices.
Things will always get very interesting whenever Georgia and Florida are involved with the same the player. This however is a very intriguing recruitment to follow because of the relationship between Georgia and Florida. Everyone knows that White came to Georgia from Florida, but on top of that the Bulldogs actually had some success against the Gators this season as well.
Sure Florida won the National Championship this season, but UGA was the last team to beat Florida in their 88-83 upset victory at the end of February.
That loss obviously no longer matters to the Gators, but it shows the potential of Georgia’s program under White. And that potential will increase with the addition of Aberdeen while also giving Georgia fans another leg up on the Gators.
