The Georgia Bulldogs just scored big on the recruiting trail — literally and figuratively.
Mark Bowman, the No. 1 tight end in the nation, has officially committed to Georgia, choosing the Bulldogs over powerhouse programs Alabama, Ohio State, and Texas in one of the most hotly contested recruiting battles of the year.
Bowman, a 6’6″, 240-pound athletic phenom out of IMG Academy, made his announcement via a live stream on Monday, rocking the red and black hat to seal the deal. Widely regarded as a generational talent at the tight end position, Bowman is known for his elite hands, physicality, and ability to create mismatches all over the field.
“I’ve prayed on it, talked with my family, and Georgia just felt like home,” Bowman said. “Coach Smart and Coach Hartley have had my back since Day 1, and I know they’ll help me reach the next level.”
The commitment strengthens Georgia’s case as TE U, following in the footsteps of stars like Brock Bowers. With Bowman’s addition, the Bulldogs continue to stockpile elite talent, keeping their SEC and national championship aspirations well within reach.
This is a massive win for Kirby Smart and his staff, who fended off intense pushes from Nick Saban’s Alabama, Ryan Day’s Buckeyes, and a fast-rising Texas Longhorns program under Steve Sarkisian.
Bowman is expected to be an immediate contributor when he arrives in Athens, and fans are already buzzing about what he’ll bring to the Dawgs’ offense.
