Dennis Bergkamp, an Arsenal icon, had a ‘funny feeling’ about Liverpool after Man City ignored them.

Dennis Bergkamp, an Arsenal star, has weighed in on Liverpool’s title hopes.

On Saturday, the top two teams in the Premier League will square off at Anfield. Liverpool are a point behind the Gunners, and a win for either team would put them first going into the Boxing Day games.

The Reds’ performance standards may have fallen in recent weeks, but they demonstrated their quality with a dominant 5-1 win against West Ham in their Carabao Cup quarter-final match on Wednesday night. Jurgen Klopp made six substitutions against West Ham, and it is the depth of Liverpool’s squad that has most impressed Bergkamp, as he indicated when asked to list Arsenal’s main Premier League opponents.

“I believe Liverpool. I get an odd feeling. “I saw that game against (Manchester) United, and they displayed the bench and the two players who were going to come on, and I was like ‘oh wait, they’ve got him and him and him,'” Bergkamp recalled on the Seaman Says podcast.

“They were all injured, and if they recover in time, they could be the strongest contenders to win.” It’s about leading the squad through this moment and then capitalizing on it later.”

Manchester City’s absence from the conversation might be interpreted as a compliment to Liverpool. The Reds also have Andy Robertson and Diogo Jota returning from injury to help their championship challenge. When addressing Arsenal’s prospects of winning the league, Bergkamp emphasized the need of handling the busy Christmas fixture calendar.

‘I believe everything is in place for [Arsenal] to succeed. “They’re getting back to playing good football, dominating and everything,” Bergkamp said.

“You need certain help from the other teams, which is working out well right now, and I learned from the English players when I played that once you get past this period, everything starts.”

“Then, with an eye on the trophies, you have the European games, which get more tense.” You must sift through your team. They’re more than in contention now, and they could win it.
