West Ham and Wolves are negotiating a deal for striker Danny Ings, according to Football Insider sources.
On Monday (8 January), Football Insider stated that the Irons want a loan fee for the 31-year-old, as well as Gary O’Neil’s side covering his salary during any prospective arrangement.
However, it is understood that West Ham are keen on acquiring their own striker and will not allow Ings to leave unless a replacement is found.
The former Aston Villa attacker has started only four games for David Moyes’ team in all competitions in 2023-24 and has failed to score or assist this season.
Football Insider reported on Monday (8 January) that West Ham manager David Moyes and his recruiting team are working hard to add a new striker to the squad this month.
It is reported that Montpellier’s Akor Adams and Paris Saint-Germain’s Hugo Ekitike are both on the London club’s radar.
The Irons are desperate for striker reinforcements this month, following Michail Antonio’s injury and Gianluca Scamacca’s departure without a replacement last summer.
West Ham are presently missing top scorer Mohammed Kudus, who joined the club from Ajax last summer and has occasionally led the charge for Moyes’ team.
Ings has failed to fill the vacuum left by Antonio and Scamacca this season after joining West Ham from Aston Villa a year ago.
The Hammers are sixth in the Premier League table ahead of their next match against Sheffield United on January 21.
Moyes’ team will also require striking reinforcements ahead of the Europa League knockout stage, which begins in March.
