Former University of Washington wide receivers coach Junior Adams is once again on the move, reportedly departing from Oregon to take on a new role in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys, according to multiple media reports on Sunday.
Adams, originally brought to Washington by then-head coach Chris Petersen, spent three seasons with the Huskies before leaving in 2021. His departure followed the dismissal of head coach Jimmy Lake, though incoming coach Kalen DeBoer made an effort to retain him on staff.
Instead, Adams accepted a position at Oregon under Dan Lanning, where he spent the last three seasons coaching wide receivers while also serving as co-offensive coordinator.
A native of Fremont, California, Adams played a pivotal role during one of Washington’s most chaotic seasons. In 2021, as the program unraveled following Lake’s suspension for an on-field incident and his subsequent firing, Adams worked to stabilize the team during the final stretch of the season. His leadership during that turbulent period remains a defining aspect of his tenure with the Huskies.
