Former BYU star Puka Nucua’s brother hits fan after crushing loss to St. Louis Battlehawks

The UFL season is halfway through, as it’s now Week 5 of the 10-week regular season. The UFL offers a chance for players who weren’t drafted into the NFL—or former NFL players who didn’t pan out—to prove they still belong on a professional roster.

The St. Louis Battlehawks and the Michigan Panthers faced off in a thriller. The game went down to the wire with several lead changes throughout. The Battlehawks managed to score a late touchdown, sealing the win and holding off the Panthers.

One of the Panthers’ most reliable wide receivers is Samson Nacua. His name may sound familiar—he’s the brother of NFL fan favorite Puka Nacua. Samson tried to make the New Orleans Saints’ 53-man roster last summer, but a lack of playing time kept him from earning a spot in the league.

“However, with no regular-season playing time in his career, it’s likely that Nacua will be on the outside looking in while more experienced veterans like Cedrick Wilson and/or Equanimeous St. Brown snag the final roster spots,” CBS Sports wrote.

Puka is one of the most well-liked players in the NFL and is known for being easygoing and fun to be around. In fact, he has already established himself as one of the best young receivers in the game.

While Puka is calm and outgoing, his brother Samson doesn’t seem quite as talkative or easy to approach. After the loss to the Battlehawks, Samson Nacua was caught on video jumping up to smack a fan who had been heckling him.

It’s unclear how intense the heckling was to provoke such a reaction, but the fact that it happened immediately after a tough loss certainly didn’t help the situation. With the defeat, the Panthers now sit at 3–2 on the season. As for Nacua, he’s left with a moment that paints him in a negative light—though it may have just been a case of emotions getting the best of him.
