Former BYU and NFL fullback Paul Lasike is approaching the culmination of his professional rugby career. After an athletic journey that began in Auckland, New Zealand, and spanned college football, the NFL, and international rugby, Lasike is preparing for his final match with the Utah Warriors in Major League Rugby (MLR).
Lasike’s athletic career is marked by versatility and resilience. He transitioned from playing rugby in New Zealand to joining BYU, where he excelled in both rugby and football. Despite not being drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, he signed with the Arizona Cardinals and later played for the Chicago Bears. After his NFL tenure, Lasike returned to rugby, joining the Utah Warriors in 2018 and subsequently playing for the Harlequins in England’s Premiership Rugby. He rejoined the Utah Warriors in 2022, bringing his experience and leadership back to the team.
