PROVO, UT — In a lightning-fast recruiting turn, Graham Livingston, a 4-star wide receiver from Katy, Texas, has announced his verbal commitment to BYU, electrifying Cougar Nation and signaling a new era of speed and explosiveness in Provo.
Livingston, who boasts verified 4.38 speed in the 40-yard dash and a 10.55-second 100m track time, made his commitment public via social media just 72 hours after his official visit to BYU — earning the moniker “Flash Commit” from fans and analysts alike.
> “Something just clicked,” Livingston said in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter). “Coach Fesi [Sitake], the family atmosphere, the future of the Big 12 — it all felt right. I’m ready to help bring championships to Provo.”
Ranked as the No. 26 wide receiver nationally and No. 8 prospect in the state of Texas by 247Sports, the 6’0″, 180-pound burner had offers from USC, Tennessee, Ole Miss, and Texas Tech. But BYU’s combination of elite facilities, a faith-based culture, and a wide-open offensive scheme sealed the deal.
Sources within the program say the staff prioritized Livingston not just for his track speed, but for his precise route-running, high football IQ, and toughness at the catch point. His high school coach, Mike Darrow, called him “a defensive coordinator’s nightmare” and “a Ferrari with a linebacker’s mentality.”
In 2024, Livingston posted eye-popping numbers: 68 receptions, 1,242 yards, and 14 touchdowns, helping Katy reach the Texas 6A state semifinals. His game film reveals a receiver who separates effortlessly, blocks with aggression, and can take a 5-yard slant 75 yards in a blink.
> “We haven’t had a player with his burst since Austin Collie,” said one BYU staffer. “He changes the math on every play.”
Livingston becomes the 12th commit in BYU’s 2026 recruiting class, which now ranks No. 14 nationally—the highest in program history. He’s expected to compete early for playing time, especially with standout receivers Kody Epps and Chase Roberts entering their final years of eligibility.
BYU offensive coordinator Aaron Roderick praised Livingston’s “pro-ready mindset,” emphasizing that the offense is evolving to maximize vertical speed.
> “We want to stretch the field and force defenses to make tough choices. Graham gives us that home-run threat we’ve been missing.”
Livingston also cited his visit experience as a major factor. He bonded with fellow Texas native and BYU quarterback commit Dylan Tapley, and attended a fireside where former players spoke about life beyond football.
> “They’re building men, not just athletes,” Livingston said. “I felt seen. I felt like I belonged.”
With Graham Livingston on board, BYU sends a powerful message to the rest of the Big 12: the Cougars are not just keeping pace—they’re accelerating.
Flash commit. Big impact. Future star.
