Duke Lands Two Future NBA Stars in Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach

Duke basketball is once again making headlines after landing two of the top prospects expected to be picked early in the 2025 NBA Draft: Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach.

Cooper Flagg, a 6-foot-9 forward from Maine, has been a standout since arriving at Duke. He’s shown he can do it all—score, rebound, pass, and block shots. This season, he averaged over 19 points and 7 rebounds a game, earning him ACC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors. Most experts believe he’ll be the No. 1 overall pick in the NBA Draft.

Right beside him is Khaman Maluach, a 7-foot-2 center from South Sudan. Known for his defense and shot-blocking ability, Maluach averaged nearly 9 points and 7 rebounds this season. His size and athleticism make him one of the most exciting big men in college basketball. His rise is even more incredible considering his journey from a conflict-stricken country to a top U.S. college program.

Both players played huge roles in helping Duke reach the Final Four this year. Their success is not only a big win for the team but also proves Duke is still one of the best places for young basketball talent to grow.

As the NBA Draft gets closer, Cooper Flagg and Khaman Maluach are names fans will hear a lot more. They’re not just stars of tomorrow—they’re already making their mark today.
