Eight months ago, Declan Rice signed a £105 million contract to join Arsenal from West Ham, and he has since become a major hit at the Emirates.
Dec recently clarified that his excellent form is nothing new, stating that he was doing the same things for years while he was with the Hammers, even though it appears that he has reached a new level with the Gunners this season.
We clearly still miss Rice, even if David Moyes replaced the 25-year-old at the London Stadium with Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse. Rice is without a doubt one of the best center midfielders in world football.
Good luck to the Arsenal player, who has a real chance to win both the Premier League and the Champions League this year. Please understand that I wasn’t pleased with some of his behavior prior to leaving to join the Gunners.
Dec’s departure from the London Stadium also infuriated a lot of Hammers supporters, as there have been rumors that he met Mikel Arteta in January 2023 (The Mirror) and that he discussed relocating to the Emirates with Kai Havertz well in advance of his move from East London to North London.
Still, a lot of water has gone under the bridge and what’s done is done. It’s difficult to deny how excellent the England international is in the clear.
This is due to reports from the Daily Star that the Gunners are planning a summer transfer for Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, a player Moyes reportedly wants to bring to the London Stadium.
