After Steve Cooper resigned, Nuno Espirito Santo was named the new head coach of Nottingham Forest.
Cooper was fired by Forest after more than two years in command, with the team sitting 17th in the Premier League after a run of just one victory in 13 games.
Nuno, who quit as Al Ittihad’s manager last month after leading the team to the Saudi Arabian league championship the previous season, will take his position.
On a two-and-a-half-year contract, he will play his first game at home against Bournemouth on Saturday. On Boxing Day, he will go to Newcastle, and on December 30, he will welcome Manchester United to the City Ground.
Following a defeat to Liverpool, Steven Reid, the coach of Nottingham Forest, received a two-match punishment for his red card.
Earlier this month, the Reds defeated the opposition 1-0 at the City Ground thanks to a goal from Darwin Nunez in the ninth minute of stoppage time.

Though play had paused a few minutes earlier so Ibrahima Konate could receive care for a head injury while they were in possession, Forest was furious that the goal still stood. Coaimhin Kelleher, the goalkeeper for Liverpool, received the ball, and Jurgen Klopp’s team would go on to score the winning goal. After a minute and fifty seconds, Forest was still incensed.
