Barcelona, along with rival Real Madrid, are the only teams currently backing the breakaway Super League initiative.
Barcelona President Joan Laporta stated that the European Super League might begin next season or by the 2025-26 season, but if it does not, the LaLiga side would have to reconsider everything.

The Court of Justice of the European Union found in December that European football’s governing body, UEFA, and its worldwide equivalent, FIFA, violated EU law by preventing 12 teams from organizing a Super League.
However, clubs and leagues banded together to oppose the initiative, promising to compete in UEFA-run events.
Barcelona, along with rival Real Madrid, are the only teams currently backing the breakaway Super League initiative.
“The Super League could begin next season, or in 2025-26, and if not, I will reconsider everything,” Laporta told Catalan radio station RAC1.
Manchester United was one of 12 teams interested in the development of the Super League in April 2021, but they withdrew owing to pressure from fans, governments, and players.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur were the other five Premier League teams that participated before withdrawing.
The Premier League announced that if they attempted a similar maneuver again, they would face a 30-point deduction and a fine of 25 million pounds ($32 million) for any breakout effort.
“I don’t care if the English arrive or not. “They already have a Super League alongside the Premier League,” Laporta stated.
