BYU basketball alumni Trey Stewart and Mawot Mag are taking their defensive prowess to international courts, continuing their professional careers in Europe. Stewart has signed with SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt in Germany’s ProA league, while Mag will join the Cairns Taipans in Australia’s National Basketball League (NBL) .
During their time at BYU, both players were integral to the team’s defensive strategies. Stewart, known for his high-motor play and perimeter defense, averaged 1.7 points per game during the 2024-25 season and was recognized for his academic achievements with selections to the Academic All-Big 12 and NABC Honors Court . Mag, a graduate transfer from Rutgers, brought versatility and toughness to the Cougars’ lineup, averaging 9.1 points and 3.2 rebounds per game .
