Duke freshman standout Cooper Flagg has made a strong return to the court following a left ankle sprain sustained during the ACC Tournament quarterfinals against Georgia Tech. Initially, head coach Jon Scheyer described the injury as a sprained ankle, with X-rays confirming no fractures.
After a period of rest and rehabilitation, Flagg reported feeling “pain-free” and participated fully in practice sessions leading up to the NCAA Tournament. In Duke’s tournament opener against Mount St. Mary’s, Flagg played 22 minutes, contributing 14 points and demonstrating confidence in his recovery.
Coach Scheyer praised Flagg’s determination and commitment to returning to play, noting that the team’s cautious approach during the ACC Tournament was aimed at ensuring his full recovery for the NCAA Tournament.
With Flagg back in action, Duke aims to leverage his talents as they advance in the tournament, maintaining their pursuit of a national championship.
