Jordy Bahl Crowned Nebraska Softball MVP Amidst Historic Season
Nebraska softball standout Jordy Bahl has been named the team’s Most Valuable Player, capping off a season filled with remarkable achievements and accolades.
Bahl’s 2025 season was nothing short of extraordinary. She became the first player in Big Ten history to earn both Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year honors in the same season. Her dual-threat capabilities were evident as she posted a 26–8 record with a 1.56 ERA in the circle, while also leading the team offensively with a .475 batting average and 23 home runs .
Her stellar performance earned her the prestigious NFCA Division I Player of the Year award, making her the first Husker to receive this national honor. Additionally, she was named a unanimous First-Team All-American, becoming the ninth pitcher and 29th player overall to achieve this distinction three times in their career .
Beyond the diamond, Bahl’s contributions were recognized at the state level. She was appointed as an Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska, the state’s highest civilian honor, joining the ranks of notable figures like Tom Osborne and Johnny Carson .
