The twin brother combination of defensive tackle Aiden Harris and defensive end Andrew Harris of Weddington, North Carolina will soon reveal their college decision. The two who plan to sign with the same school have made up their minds and will be announcing the choice soon, perhaps as early as after their official visits to South Carolina this weekend. Aiden (6-3, 250), who is the older brother by one minute, said he and Andrew (6-2, 225) have seen and heard enough, and now it’s time to take the next step. “The process, a lot of people say it gets easier, but when it’s down to a few schools, I feel like it’s harder because of the bond that you built with the other coaches,” Harris said. “I wouldn’t say the relationships have to die, but it would just be harder to maintain that while at another school. Just getting ready to tell them that everything, and all the stuff that they put into you, is going to be gone and they’ve got to look for someone else.” The twins had narrowed their decision to South Carolina, Auburn and N.C. State. Those are the three programs with which they scheduled official visits. Aiden said the program they selected showed him sincerity in the recruiting process, and the coaches built a trust.
Well, I’m just going to talk on my behalf. I can always look at these coaches and they will always be there for me outside of football,” Harris said. “If something were to go wrong, I just know they will be there for me. There’s no if, ands or buts about it. I’ve got faith in them. They’ve got faith in me. It will be good to be surrounded by them day by day and having them develop me.”
Aiden Harris said he and his brother have told the coaches at their school of choice that they are coming. In fact, they made separate calls to the head coach on different days. “They were excited,” he said. “I told them that I just needed a little while before I post it. This is like the process has been. I’ve basically been committed. I just haven’t put it out there. I haven’t picked a date but it will very soon.” Aiden Harris said he and his brother feel great about their choice which will give them the chance to fulfill their childhood dream.
