According to ESPN, Nebraska is not expected to hold its annual spring game in 2025 due to concerns that opposing programs could use the event to scout players for the transfer portal. Head coach Matt Rhule revealed that after past spring games, Nebraska players received offers from other schools.

Although Nebraska is unlikely to host its traditional spring game, Rhule hopes to organize an alternative event for fans, tentatively scheduled for April 26.
