Coach Brown and Jeff Hostetler Visit Mylan Park Elementary to Thank Young Fundraisers
Morgantown, WV — Excitement filled the halls of Mylan Park Elementary as students in Mrs. Brun’s class received two very special visitors: WVU Head Football Coach Neal Brown and former NFL quarterback Jeff Hostetler. The surprise visit came as a heartfelt thank-you for the class’s incredible fundraising effort, having raised $418 for the Hoss Foundation’s Quarterback Challenge.
The Quarterback Challenge is one of the Hoss Foundation’s signature fundraising campaigns, aimed at supporting children and families facing medical hardships. Mrs. Brun’s students were inspired to take action and, with creativity and compassion, organized a classroom initiative to collect donations.
Coach Brown and Hostetler—founder of the Hoss Foundation—personally stopped by to congratulate the students and recognize their generosity and team spirit.
“You all are the real MVPs,” said Coach Brown during the visit. “What you’ve done here shows what’s possible when people come together to make a difference.”
Hostetler echoed that sentiment, expressing his appreciation not just for the funds raised but for the heart behind the effort. “This kind of kindness, especially from young people, reminds us all why we do this work. Every dollar helps a child and family in need—and your $418 will go a long way.”
The visit was filled with high-fives, photo ops, and stories about football, teamwork, and giving back. The students asked questions, shared what inspired their fundraising, and even showed off the handmade signs they used to promote their campaign.
For Mrs. Brun, it was a proud moment as an educator. “It’s not just about the money,” she said. “It’s about teaching our students the value of empathy, service, and community. Having Coach Brown and Mr. Hostetler recognize their hard work really brought that lesson home.”
The Hoss Foundation plans to continue its outreach and fundraising efforts throughout the year, and this visit to Mylan Park Elementary serves as a shining example of how even the youngest members of a community can make a powerful impact.
