NFL players are some of the most physically imposing people you can imagine. Chris Jones, the Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman, is 6’6″ and weighs 310 pounds, making him a huge dude even by NFL standards.
So it was quite the sight when CBS cameras caught Jones crying during “The Star-Spangled Banner” as sung by country music artist Reba McEntire before Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas. It brought to mind Philadelphia Eagles coach Nick Sirianni’s tears during the national anthem before last year’s Super Bowl.
Kudos to Jones for being confident enough to let his emotions flow and allow fans to see his softer side.
