As we approach the Feb. 8 NBA trade deadline, Chicago Bulls guard Alex Caruso is one of the names often linked in various rumors. And for any and all teams eyeing Caruso in a potential deal, it will require some very deep pockets to pry him away from Chicago. During a recent breakdown of potential prospects and possible trade targets for the Milwaukee Bucks after the firing of Adrian Griffin, Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports called Caruso a “dream outcome.
” But if the Bucks, or any team, is going to make a move for Caruso, it’s going to cost them. Alex Caruso would mark a dream outcome for the Bucks, but Chicago has indicated the Bulls would need multiple first-round picks to even consider parting with Caruso, according to league sources, if Chicago even truly considers moving him at all.
Not only is the asking price of multiple first-round selections significant, but according to Fischer, the Bulls do not appear to be eager in dealing the 29-year-old. Multiple clubs are undoubtedly interested in acquiring Caruso, including his old team, the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the Lakers were previously the most popular match and landing spot for Caruso’s teammate, Zach LaVine, and are allegedly interested in DeMar DeRozan, according to The Athletic’s Sam Amick.
While Caruso’s name will remain a hot subject as the NBA trade deadline approaches, his future in Chicago appears to be secure, at least for now.
