Georgia football on verge of landing game-changing top recruit.
Five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell is all anyone in the college football world is talking about. The No. 1 player in the 2026 recruiting class announced his top four schools earlier this month, which consisted of Georgia, Miami (FL), Ohio State and Oregon. Cantwell also shared during that announcement that he will commit on April 30.
Those plans however changed on Wednesday as Cantwell pushed his commitment date back two weeks to May 13. The sole reason for this decision was so he could make anothe visit to Georgia before his commitment, which is scheduled for May 10.This update created quite the stir among Georgia fans because it led many to beleive that Georgia was now the team to beat. However, no one actually knew if UGA was the leader for Cantwell as an expert prediction had not been logged yet to back that up.
That changed Thursday morning however as On3’s Steve Wiltfong officially predicted Cantwell to commit to Georgia
