BYU wide receiver Kyson Hall is making a name for himself on the football field, and his athletic prowess may be attributed to his unique family background. As the youngest in a lineage of accomplished athletes, Kyson’s parents, Kalin and Hollie Hall, both have deep ties to BYU athletics. Kalin was a standout running back for the Cougars in the early 1990s, while Hollie (née Hamilton) competed as a gymnast for BYU in 1993 .
Kyson’s siblings have also left their mark on BYU sports. His brother KJ played running back for the Cougars from 2015 to 2017, and another brother, Jaren, served as BYU’s starting quarterback before moving on to the NFL. Among the Hall siblings, Kyson is often regarded as the most athletic, a testament to the diverse athletic genes inherited from both sides of his family .
Before joining BYU, Kyson was a standout at Maple Mountain High School in Spanish Fork, Utah. He earned All-State and All-Region honors, leading his team in receiving yards and showcasing remarkable speed with sub-4.4-second 40-yard dash times and sub-10.78-second 100-meter dash times. His athletic versatility was evident as he also lettered in basketball and baseball .
Kyson’s journey to BYU included a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Accra, Ghana, reflecting his commitment both on and off the field. Now, as he continues to develop within the BYU football program, fans and coaches alike are eager to see how his unique blend of speed, agility, and athletic heritage will contribute to the team’s success in the upcoming seasons.
