BYU Women’s Basketball Builds Community Support Through Fan Fest Events
The BYU Women’s Basketball program is proving that its impact extends well beyond the hardwood. In recent weeks, the team participated in highly successful Fan Fest events in St. George, Utah, and Idaho Falls, Idaho—bringing Cougar pride and excitement directly to fans across the region.
These events offered Cougar Nation an opportunity to connect with BYU coaches, student-athletes, and staff in a personal, relaxed environment. The turnout was impressive, with hundreds of fans attending to show their support and meet the faces behind the program.
Head coach Lee Cummard emphasized the importance of community outreach and the role these events play in building the program’s brand.
“We want to be more than just a basketball team,” said Cummard. “Fan Fest is about creating relationships, inspiring the next generation, and reminding people that they’re part of our journey.”
Children and families lined up for autographs, photos, and interactive games, while current players and coaching staff engaged in meaningful conversations with supporters of all ages. The experience not only deepened fan loyalty but also gave players a sense of appreciation for the support that surrounds them.
The events come at a pivotal time as BYU Women’s Basketball gears up for a new chapter in the Big 12 Conference under Coach Cummard’s leadership. Strengthening the fan base—especially outside of Provo—is vital to the program’s long-term visibility and success.
BYU Athletics has long valued family-friendly, faith-centered fan experiences, and these recent Fan Fests reaffirmed that mission. With more events potentially on the horizon, the Cougars are ensuring that their journey is shared by a wide and enthusiastic community.
From St. George to Idaho Falls, Cougar spirit is alive and growing—and BYU Women’s Basketball is making sure it stays that way.
