BYU Football’s 2026 Recruiting Class Breaks into National Top 30
The BYU Cougars are making significant strides on the recruiting trail, with their 2026 football recruiting class currently ranked No. 29 nationally by 247Sports. This marks a substantial improvement from previous years, where the program often hovered around the 50s and 60s in national rankings.
Leading the class are two standout Utah natives: tight end Brock Harris and offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo. Harris is ranked as the 68th-best player nationally and the second-best recruit in Utah, while Mulitalo comes in at 93rd nationally and third in the state.
The Cougars have also secured commitments from several other promising prospects, including three-star wide receiver Terrance Saryon, who decommitted from Washington to join BYU, and athlete Sefanaia Alatini. In total, BYU has nine commits so far, all rated three stars or higher.
This recruiting success follows BYU’s impressive 11-2 season in 2024, which included a dominant victory over Colorado in the Alamo Bowl. The program’s recent on-field performance, combined with increased NIL support and a renewed sense of excitement around BYU football, has contributed to its rising appeal among top recruits.
As the recruiting cycle progresses, BYU aims to maintain this momentum and potentially secure its highest-ranked recruiting class in program history. With a strong foundation already in place, the Cougars are poised to continue their ascent in the college football landscape.
