BYU Dominates Alamo Bowl with Sitake at the Helm
BYU football capped off a stellar season with a commanding 36–14 victory over Colorado in the Alamo Bowl, a triumph that highlighted head coach Kalani Sitake’s growing reputation as one of college football’s most effective and inspirational leaders. The win not only boosted BYU’s national standing but also reinforced the team’s competitive legitimacy in the Big 12 Conference.
From the opening kickoff, the Cougars looked focused, disciplined, and aggressive—traits that have become hallmarks of Sitake’s coaching style. Quarterback play was sharp, the defense was suffocating, and special teams contributed key field position advantages. But beyond the stats, it was BYU’s unity and energy that stole the show.
“Coach Sitake told us to go out there and play for each other,” said one senior after the game. “We believed in each other, and you could see that on every snap.”
The Alamo Bowl win marks another high point in Sitake’s tenure and signals that BYU is not just content to belong in the Power Five world—it intends to thrive. The team’s preparation, execution, and composure under pressure reflected a culture built on trust, accountability, and love—values Sitake has emphasized since his first day in Provo.
“Kalani gets the best out of these young men because he genuinely cares about them,” said BYU Athletic Director Tom Holmoe. “He’s building a program the right way.”
With this bowl victory, Sitake improved his postseason record and added another signature win to his growing résumé. More importantly, the Cougars head into the offseason with momentum, a strong returning core, and the belief that they can contend at the highest level.
For BYU and its fans, the Alamo Bowl wasn’t just a game—it was a statement. And Sitake delivered it loud and clear.
