BYU men’s basketball is assembling a formidable non-conference schedule for the 2025–26 season, featuring high-profile matchups against UConn and Wisconsin.
The Cougars are set to face the UConn Huskies in mid-November at Boston’s TD Garden, providing a homecoming for BYU’s top freshman A.J. Dybantsa, a native of nearby Brockton, Massachusetts. This game will also allow UConn’s Alex Karaban to play near his hometown of Southborough, Massachusetts. Both teams are anticipated to be ranked in the preseason top 10, with UConn returning key players like Karaban, Solo Ball, Tarris Reed Jr., and Jaylin Stewart, alongside standout transfers and recruits such as Braylon Mullins and Eric Reibe.
Additionally, BYU will host the Wisconsin Badgers on November 21 at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. This game is part of a two-game series, with the return matchup expected in Milwaukee in 2026. Wisconsin concluded the previous season with a 27–10 record and a second-round appearance in the NCAA tournament, where they were eliminated by BYU.
These games are part of a challenging non-conference slate for BYU, which also includes matchups against Villanova in Las Vegas on November 3, Clemson in New York on December 9, and participation in a Thanksgiving tournament in Orlando featuring Georgetown, Miami, and Dayton.
Under first-year head coach Kevin Young, BYU aims to build upon their 26–10 record and Sweet Sixteen appearance from the previous season. The team’s roster boasts returning All-American candidate Richie Saunders, center Keba Keita, guard Dawson Baker, and Baylor transfer Rob Wright.
With a schedule filled with high-caliber opponents, BYU is positioning itself for a strong season and a potential deep run in the NCAA tournament
