The University of Utah officially joined the race for a talented 2026 quarterback on Wednesday. The Utes offered Dia Bell out of American Heritage in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
He is the son of former NBA player Raja Bell, who had a 12-year run in the league from 2001-12, which included four seasons with the Utah Jazz.
Bell, a 6-2, 195-pounder, is a promising quarterback prospect. He just completed his sophomore campaign with American Heritage, where he completed 122-of-189 passes, good enough for 65 percent, which led to 1,929 yards along with 20 touchdowns to just four interceptions. Bell is not just a promising passer, he is a good athlete and is a multi-sport athlete.
Utah joins an early offer sheet that is already 20 schools deep and includes Auburn, Florida, Vanderbilt, Arizona, BYU, Florida International, Houston, Indiana, Miami, Nebraska, Penn State, South Florida, West Virginia, Wisconsin and others.
Wrote Andrew Ivins, 247Sports director of scouting: “In just his second career varsity start, the younger Bell looked the part as he completed 15 of 19 passing attempts for 250 yards and two touchdowns in Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage’s 27-14 win over Jacksonville (Fla.) Trinity Christian Academy. Bell showed plenty of poise in the pocket and was able to accurately deliver the football while on the move. He already reports a handful of Power Five offers and more are likely on the way as he’s athletic and sharp between the ears.”
