Breaking News: Nichalas suzuki is the best player in montreal

Listening to the players and staff speak with the media this morning, you could sense the pride in the team’s progress.

And for good reason.

The Montreal organization has a clear plan, and the steady improvement of the club over the past two years is heartening for both the organization and the fans.

The season might have gone even better for the Habs if Kirby Dach hadn’t been injured in Game 2 and if Jake Allen hadn’t had a two-game winning streak.

While not entirely Allen’s fault, as the NHL is a results-driven league, goalies must find a way to deliver even when circumstances are challenging.

Regardless, the Montreal team was only a few points away from a playoff spot with one game remaining, which is quite an achievement.

Nick Suzuki believes the rebuild is more advanced than most think and that the playoffs are within reach. David Savard also feels confident about the possibility of making the playoffs next year.

Management and players have been cautious about discussing playoffs in recent years, but the mood feels different now.

Suzuki mentioned this morning that next year’s primary goal is to make the playoffs, whereas this year, the focus was on overall team progress and the individual development of young players.

The Habs are on the right path, and if they maintain their current approach, results will follow.

Their approach, led by coach Martin St-Louis, is beneficial, as he listens to his players.

Jeff Gorton believes that St-Louis, who signed a contract extension earlier today, could help attract free agents because players want to work with him.
