The New Orleans Pelicans announced today that the team has completed a three-team trade with the Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets. The Pelicans have acquired Saddiq Bey, Jordan Poole and the draft rights to Micah Peavy from Washington in exchange for CJ McCollum, Kelly Olynyk and a future second round pick. Additionally, New Orleans has traded the draft rights of Mojave King to the Houston Rockets.

Bey, 6-7, 215, has appeared in 292 career games (223 starts) with the Detroit Pistons and Atlanta Hawks, holding career averages of 14.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He appeared in 63 games (51 starts) for the Hawks during the 2023-24 season, averaging 13.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game before suffering a torn ACL on March 10, causing him to miss the entire 2024-25 season.
Poole, 6-4, 194, has appeared in 412 games (249 starts) with Golden State and Washington, holding career averages of 16.8 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.8 assists per contest. Poole started all 68 contests he appeared in for Washington during the 2024-25 season, averaging a career-high 20.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists. Poole shot a career-best .378 from three-point range, averaging 3.5 makes per game. A key member of Golden State’s 2022 NBA Championship team, Poole holds playoff averages of 14.5 points, 3.7 assists and 2.2 rebounds in 35 games (nine starts).I want to thank CJ McCollum and Kelly Olynyk for their professionalism and contributions to the Pelicans,” stated Dumars. “CJ’s impact goes far beyond the court. McCollum, 6-3, 190, who was originally acquired via trade from Portland in 2022, appeared in 223 regular season games in New Orleans, averaging 21.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 5.0 assists over the past four seasons. McCollum departs the franchise ranked seventh in points (4,704), fifth in assists (1,113), eighth in minutes played (7,518) and the leader in three-point field goals made (628). While in New Orleans, McCollum helped lead the Pelicans to two playoff appearances in 2022 and 2024, averaging 20.4 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 10 postseason contests.
Olynyk, 6-11, 240, appeared in 20 games (all starts) for New Orleans after being acquired in a February trade with Toronto, averaging 10.7 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists. Olynyk holds career averages of 10.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 800 games (283 starts) across 12 NBA seasons with New Orleans, Toronto, Utah, Detroit, Houston, Miami and Boston.
