Big-time recognition for one of the Razorbacks’ finest β Wehiwa Aloy has just been named the Golden Spikes Award winner, the highest individual honor in college baseball! π
Β
Aloyβs season was nothing short of electric. From his clutch hits to his steady leadership, the junior infielder was a force all year long. He finished the season with a .361 batting average, 22 home runs, and 68 RBIs, playing a pivotal role in leading Arkansas to yet another deep postseason run.
Β
The award, presented annually by USA Baseball, goes to the top amateur baseball player in the country β and this year, there was no debate. Aloyβs consistency at the plate, flawless glove, and energy in the dugout made him the heart and soul of the Hogs.
Β
Head coach Dave Van Horn said it best:
Β
> βWehiwa played every game with heart. This isnβt just a win for him β itβs a win for Razorback Nation.β
